ATMP has excellent chelating, low-limit inhibition, and lattice distortion-preventing effects. It can prevent the formation of scale-forming salts in water, especially calcium carbonate scale. ATMP is chemically stable in water and does not easily hydrolyze. At higher concentrations in water, it has good corrosion inhibition effects.
ATMP is used in circulating cooling water systems of thermal power plants and oil refineries, as well as in oilfield reinjection water systems. It can reduce corrosion and scaling of metal equipment or pipelines. ATMP is used as a metal ion chelating agent in the textile printing and dyeing industry, and can also be used as a metal surface treatment agent.
